A Letter from the President

Welcome to the first issue of Groupwares CommunITy, a new online publication designed to promote discussion of current technology trends and values within the IT community.

As president and CEO, I'm proud to say Groupware Technology has always been driven by two simple, yet powerful, principles; we work to provide service that sets market standards and we gather and share information about how technology enables business. As technology continues to enable innovation around the world, innovation is steadily integrated into more and more aspects of our personal and professional lives. The need for information and thought leadership has never been greater.

At a time when context and connection is increasingly important, Groupware's CommunITy will focus on new products, strategies, and trends, and their current and potential impact on both business and the culture. Our goal is for the CommunITy is to become a forum for information, insight, and opinion, one focused more on technology's greater global context and less on propaganda editorial. Because we know your time is valuable, each issue is designed to feature article summaries with links where you can read full stories and have the opportunity to provide feedback.

This publication was created for you and we're going to do our best to cover products and topics you care about. In this first issue, we examine two topics; virtualization and the effect this important technology is having on businesses of all sizes, and the Green Initiative and the effect IT energy consumption is having on the planet and what can be done about it.

We trust that you will find Groupware's CommunITy relevant and valuable. We want your feedback and would like to know what topics you'd like to see covered in the future. In our community, your voice is critical and we want to make sure that your voice is heard.
